UAE e-invoicing for free zone companies
Free zone companies that issue in-scope B2B or B2G invoices must follow the UAE e-invoicing mandate and exchange them through an FTA-Accredited Service Provider. Ravera, itself a UAE Free Zone company, offers an API for companies with an ERP and web invoicing for lower volumes, with a local team on UAE hours.
The challenge
Where e-invoicing gets harder
Uncertainty about scope
Many free zone businesses are unsure whether and how the mandate applies to their activities.
Lean finance teams
Smaller teams need a route to compliance that does not require a large IT project.
Trade in every direction
Customers and suppliers sit in the mainland, in other free zones and abroad.
How Ravera fits
The services that matter most
Issue & convert
Use the API from your ERP, or web invoicing in the browser.
Exchange
Reach customers anywhere in the UAE over the Peppol network.
Receive
Supplier invoices arrive as structured data.
Archive
7 years of UAE-domiciled records.
Residency, volume and structure
- Data residency
- Documents are archived for 7 years in UAE-domiciled storage, so records stay in the country.
- Volume
- Web invoicing covers lower volumes with no build. As volume grows, your ERP can connect to the same account through the API.
- Multi-entity
- Businesses with entities in several zones, or in a free zone and the mainland, keep one provider for all of them, each reported under its own tax registration.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are free zone companies covered by UAE e-invoicing?
Being in a free zone does not on its own take a business out of scope. Whether your invoices are covered depends on your activities and the rules in the Ministerial Decisions, so your tax adviser should confirm your position. If you are in scope, the same revenue-based deadlines and the same need for an Accredited Service Provider apply.
Do free zone companies need an ERP to use Ravera?
No. Companies without an ERP connection can use Ravera’s web invoicing to create and send compliant e-invoices in the browser, and receive supplier invoices the same way. Companies with an ERP can connect it to Ravera’s REST API instead, with their own team or integrator building the connection and Ravera assisting testing.
